I’m a certified Acupuncturist specializing in a variety of TCM treatment services. Chinese Medicine is a healing technique based on the principle of free and uninterrupted energy flow. The focus of each treatment is to help activate the natural healing processes in each patient's body.
I regard each patient as a whole, rather than an illness to be defeated. I believe in nurturing, rather than battling against the body. Get in touch with me today to start healing your mind, body, and soul.
Acupuncture is the use of single use, sterile needles inserted into acupuncture points. The use and stimulation of these points helps activate and align the qi, or energy that is within us. Promoting free flow of energy provides our body the capacity to heal itself, providing physical and mental wellbeing and emotional peace and clarity.
Cupping has become very popular in recent years as professional athletes and celebrities have been seen sporting its lovely circular marks. Cupping is a fantastic modality to ease muscle tension and reduce pain. The goal is to improve circulation to the local tissue and increase blood flow to decrease inflammation and improve healing. While the marks look like they might be painful, the process of cupping is quite comfortable.
Similar to cupping, Guasha is done with the goal of increasing circulation of energy, fluids and blood to promote healing. The technique uses a hard tool, anything from a ceramic soup spoon to special jade tools, scraped across the skin to elicit marks (called sha). The sha brought to the surface provides for the clearing of toxins, easing of local tension and reduction of pain.
Chinese herbal medicine uses the knowledge of taste and nature to bring balance from within. Herbal medicine includes food grade dietary recommendations to more specific herbal remedies such as patent herbal pills, granule formulas and even topical herbal liniments and salves to address imbalances.
